As energy prices soar and the problem of greenhouse gases accelerates, some U.S. cities are looking for ways to go green.

The current U.S. energy crisis includes deep dependence on foreign oil, too great a reliance on non-renewable fossil fuels, and carbon dioxide emissions that are causing severe changes in the global climate. Finding solutions to these problem will require a synergy of innovative minds. To that end, Missouri University of Science and Technology has now joined a national consortium to help find long term, secure, sustainable, and environmentally friendly sources of energy.
